The assessment system for legal structures was introduced in 2015. It soon acquired a nickname: the Cayman Tax. On 27 and 28 September 2023, Grant Thornton Germany will organise a VAT summit for clients for the second time. The European VAT Summit offers tax practitioners an exclusive VAT forum for knowledge transfer and personal exchange. Because one thing is certain: nationally and internationally operating companies are confronted with a multitude of complex VAT issues. In addition to the risk of a definitive VAT burden, this regulatory density also harbours high potential for conflicts with the tax authorities.
