‘I can forge my own path here’

At home she enjoys the company of her two cats, but at Grant Thornton Diana Briuchovetskij gets stuck into the accounting, tax and finances of our clients with the persistence of a terrier. She keeps at it until all the figures are correct. ‘Giving up isn’t my style.’

Who is Diana Briuchovetskij?

Position: Junior Accountant Yoga fanatic

Age: 27

Office: Antwerp

Energy source: that moment when everything is correct – for instance when assets equal liabilities in the accounts

Hobbies: yoga and reading

How did you end up at Grant Thornton?

Diana: ‘I stayed on after my internship. Even during the very first meeting I had a good feeling: I was really listened to. You can forge your own path here on the basis of your interests. It’s not just about performance. That feeling was further confirmed during my internship. That and the great colleagues convinced me to stay.’

What opportunities does Grant Thornton offer?

Diana: ‘If your manager notices that things are going well, you’re given more challenging work or new clients. That’s how I keep on learning and growing. One step further and one layer deeper every time. I’m very persistent: if I want something, I go for it completely. I don’t like unfinished business. That’s definitely useful in a job with lots of deadlines.’

What makes working at Grant Thornton so enjoyable?

Diana: ‘Having friendly and personal contact with my colleagues is really important to me. All of that makes me feel good here. You can talk about anything, including when things aren’t going so well. The many team-building activities strengthen that bond even further.’

How do you see your future development?

Diana: ‘You don’t necessarily develop on the basis of seniority here, but on the basis of your progress. I‘ve already made great leaps forward and hope to become a senior soon. After that, anything is still possible: supervising trainees, a manager position, a few months abroad – we’ll see what comes along! I’m ready to throw myself completely into it.’
