Grant Thornton Belgium and BeAligned join forces

ANTWERP, November 7th 2014

Grant Thornton grows its advisory services after announcing that BeAligned, an independent advisory firm that provides integrated growth based solutions, will join Grant Thornton Belgium and become part of the Grant Thornton global organisation.

The combined advisory services offering will address a real market need and fully aligns with Grant Thornton’s brand promise to help dynamic organisations unlock their potential for growth. Pending joint completion of regulatory approval procedures, Grant Thornton Belgium will employ over 175 people with offices in Antwerp, Brussels, Doornik, Hasselt, Turnhout and the new location in Ghent.

Paul De Weerdt, managing partner at Grant Thornton Belgium explained: “The collaboration with BeAligned will enable us to expand our current advisory service offerings to include optimizing process management, efficiency maximisation (Lean, Six Sigma), stakeholder interaction improvement and innovation strategy.”

From a client perspective he added ”Our existing clients will be able to use our expanded service range, given no conflict arises with services we offer them in audit and assurance. We are convinced the combined expertise will also create new opportunities to cater to the needs of growing organisations, where support in preparing for their future is required.”

Marc vande Gucht, managing director at BeAligned also stressed the advantages of the collaboration: “Joining Grant Thornton gives our clients a global connection to the international expertise provided by the 38,500 Grant Thornton member firm people in over 130 countries. They will now have access to audit, assurance, tax, accountancy, transaction support, business risk services, financial planning and legal services. This collaboration allows employees to gain knowledge in new domains through joint projects as well as allowing the firm to fully invest in integrated advisory.”

He added “Both parties joining forces creates a large Advisory Services department within Grant Thornton Belgium with over 40 advisors. This makes it an important player in the market, with capabilities to take on a wide range of challenges. Both parties’ culture, values and mission are a close match. Both organisations are approachable partners that offer their specialized services in an efficient way, with a strong customer focus.”
